For more than three decades, Alpine Shop’s Winter Swap has brought St. Louis’ outdoor community together to buy and sell great gear. This October, the tradition returns bigger than ever and now powered by Swap365, our year-round used-gear consignment program.
Shop the Swap tent filled with used outdoor gear from every season, discover special offers on new winter equipment and apparel throughout the store, or turn the gear you no longer use into credit for your next adventure.

Winter Swap puts your gear in front of one of our biggest shopping crowds of the year, giving you a powerful opportunity to sell it quickly.
Bring your gear to our special Winter Swap Check-In from October 10–15. We’ll have additional staff available each day to help process the season’s biggest wave of used equipment. Items checked in during this period will be held for the opening of Winter Swap at 6 p.m. on Friday, October 16.
If your gear doesn’t sell during the weekend, there’s no need to start over. It will move directly into Swap365 and remain available at Alpine Shop Kirkwood for up to 90 days. After 60 days, the price will automatically be reduced by 30%. Any item still unsold at 90 days must be picked up or will be considered abandoned and may be donated or otherwise disposed of by Alpine Shop.

Gear accepted into Swap365 during September can begin selling immediately and will still be part of our available used-gear inventory during Winter Swap if it hasn’t already sold.
September drop-offs follow our regular Swap365 schedule and appointment process. Special Winter Swap Check-In runs October 10–15 on a first-come, first-served basis, with specific hours to be announced.
During Winter Swap Check-In, customers may submit up to 10 items at a time. You may return to the line to submit additional groups of up to 10 items.
Friday Night's First Look + Support a Great Cause

Be among the first to shop the gear collected specifically for Winter Swap.
Admission is $5 per person on Friday night only, with all proceeds benefiting the Gateway Disabled Ski Program. Friday evening is the first opportunity to shop newly checked-in Winter Swap merchandise, so come early for the best selection.

Winter Swap isn’t only about used gear.
While the tent is packed with pre-owned finds, Alpine Shop Kirkwood will also feature special offers on new winter gear and apparel throughout the store. Whether you’re searching for a second-life bargain or this season’s newest equipment, this is one of the biggest weekends of the year to gear up.

Gear From Every Season
Winter gear is the star of the event, but Winter Swap welcomes quality outdoor gear from every season including skiing, snowboarding, camping, hiking, cycling, paddling, technical apparel, footwear, packs and more.
All merchandise must meet Alpine Shop’s condition, age, brand and safety requirements. Certain equipment, including skis, bindings and bicycles, may require additional inspection or must meet current service and safety standards. Alpine Shop reserves the right to decline any item.
